In 1856, after the death of both his mother and dear friend and mentor Robert Schumann, Johannes Brahms immediately began work on his monumental Ein Deutsches Requiem (A German Requiem), commemorating life, love, and loss amidst the human experience. Masterworks Chorale of Carroll County, directed by its new artistic director Michael Holmes, will perform a special intimate version of this luminous masterpiece for choir, soloists, and chamber ensemble that was prepared by Joachim Linckelman.
